Guided MTB Rides
Let me show you my favourite trails
The Flattyres-MTB rides are a great way to experience my routes without referring to a map or GPS. That leaves you free to enjoy the trails and scenery, while relying on my years of experience being an MBLA qualified guide and instructor. These guided rides cover all the areas my route guides do in North Wales and the North West of England, including Snowdonia, the Peak District, the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the Pennines.
Free Guided Rides
I love sharing the trails I have found with others. To do this, as well as producing my route guides, I started my free guided rides. These rides take the form of a monthly Sunday Social Ride and weekly Wednesday Night Rides. The emphasis on these rides is about the getting out in the hills and having fun, with plenty of stops to have a chat and catch your breath. Details on these rides can be found below.
Bespoke Guided Rides
Want to ride with your family and friends on a ride tailored to your exact needs? I am available as a guide for hire to make sure you all have the best day out on your bikes. Full details are available on my Bespoke Guided Rides page.
These rides are around 20 miles with the emphasis on getting out and having fun. Good basic mountain biking skills are necessary, but if you can make it around my Cilcain and the Vale of Clwyd route in under 4hrs, you should have no problems (that is not to say you will not be tired at the end). Max 20 Riders
These rides are based around the Clwydian Range and the Ceiriog Valley, with a variety of terrain suitable for a whole spectrum of riders, from those just starting out to the experienced. They start at 7pm and last for two hours with time for a quick drink at the end.

Night Ride: Moel Famau, Clwydian Range, North Wales
Starts at 7pm on Wed 16th May 2018:
This will be a ride of 10 miles on the trails of the Clwydian Range following my Moel Famau Circuit route. The ride will start from the layby near the toilet block, to the left of the entrance to the Moel Famau lower car park (map link).
Social Ride: Jacob's Ladder, Peak District
Starts at 10am on Sun 20th May 2018:
This will be a ride of 17.5 miles following my Jacob's Ladder route. It is the classic Dark Peak route that takes in the Jacob's Ladder, Rushup Edge and Roych Clough descents. Although not exceptionally long the rocky terrain, combined with difficult climbs and steep technical descents, makes this route a tough one. The ride will start from the Hayfield Visitor Centre car park (map link)
Vinyl Bear, a local North Wales company, have produced some fantastic Flattyres-MTB clothing. There is a hoodie and male / female wicking T-shirts to choose from, which look good both on and off the bike. You can buy them HERE.
