MTB Route Guides
covering North Wales and the North West of England
Over 80 mountain bike route guides covering North Wales and the North West of England, including Snowdonia, the Peak District, the Lake District and the Pennines.
I have ridden all of these mountain bike routes, which means you can be sure of a great ride. There are a wide variety of routes from quick blasts around the hills to multi-day epics. Many of the routes overlap, so if you can’t find exactly what you want it’s possible to mix and match and put a ride together that suits your needs perfectly.
These are route guides are only, for navigation please use the appropriate OS map.
A wonderful part of the country with huge variety from the mountains of Snowdonia to the grassy Clwydian Hills, the winch and plummet of the Ceiriog Valley to the expanse of the Cambrian Mountains.
The Peak District
An area of two halves, with the technical gritstone of the Dark Peak and the rolling limestone hills and dales of the White Peak. There are some real classic rides here, so what are you waiting for....
The Lake District
If you like rocks then head to the Lake District. However technical you want to get there's a challenge waiting. Just be prepared for a bit of hike'a'bike on the harder rides.
These routes cover the big exposed riding available in the Yorkshire Dales to the winch and plummet of Calderdale. There's fast, there's technical and there's huge map crossing potential. Whatever type of riding you like it's here.
On the border between Wales and England are hills that contain some great riding. A bit grassy, a bit rocky and a whole lot of fun. Mainly situated on Long Mynd, the hill that contains the wonderful Minton Batch trail.
Although there is a lot of urban in Lancashire it also contains the Forest of Bowland and the great trails of Rivington Pike. Rivington Pike is covered here but the Bowland routes are still to come.
